Quarantfreedom
This is what we’ve all been waiting for, isn’t it?
Unlimited time.
No obligations.
Space to explore all of the things we set aside for “real life.”
It should come as no surprise that we deem staying at home a catastrophe. Something that sends us into a panic.
Because there’s nothing like realizing that you are free.
School kids are free to learn at their own pace, to play their own games.
And us? We’ve just been waiting for time to pause and let us write that book, cook that new recipe, talk for hours on the phone with our sister, write long letters to friends, have excuses to spend a long time in a bath, lie down on the floor and just listen and listen and listen to music.
We’ve just been waiting for the opportunity to come where we could give ourselves over in Every Moment to Every Moment.
It’s a time we never thought would come. We could keep complaining and explaining for the rest of our lives that we just didn’t get the chance to do what we wanted to do. We had to work that job we hate, we had to keep working late, we were obligated to go to that party and this shower and that event.
But the time has come and we are terrified.
We are terrified of the creativity that wants to come out of us. Of the free time to do anything and everything we have always imagined, always hoped to do, if time would just stop for a minute and the world wouldn’t spin so we could just learn to make pesto or write the first draft of a story begging to come out of us.
It is scary to be that available to the magic of creativity. It means your heart is open. It means your soul is unraveled. It means that you are inside-out and you can be seen.
Which is everything we want, and everything we fear.
But you are glorious and you deserve to flourish wildly in the habitat of your creative heart.
Write with gusto! Paint in vivid colors! Talk softly and dance helter-skelter! Sing loudly!
Let things be as they want to be. We are exactly where we are. The unpolished perfection of your light will shine.
Being at home is not a prison. It is an open door to bring your inside out.
We can’t wait.
much love and of course
all the joy and confetti,
Alexa
